We all know that Ionization Energy increases as we move across a period.........
But it is not so in some of the cases......
Do you guys know that why Ionization Energy of nitrogen is greater than oxygen ???

This is actually due to half filled p orbital of Nitrogen , which provides it a stable electronic configuration and hence it posseses more IE than Oxygen.

We all know that half filled and completely filled configuration have extra stability.when we move across the 3d series Mn and Zn have exceptionally high ionization enthalpy due to their configuration.
