It is because everything in nature want to b in minimum energy state and offer minimum surface area, so for minimum energy spherical shape offer minimum area.

Gravitational force keeps the body in their orbit but the reason for their spherical shape is rotation and the centripetal force acting towards their center.

Pressure is what makes a thing sphere.. take an example of an iron rod.. that is mt sphere but it do have a centeare of gravity where all the mass is compressed in that point oare else they are pulled inside in that point bt the gravity is so less and pressure of the surface to the centre is so less that it cannot become a sphere bt in case of planets and stars the gravity and mass is so much that it takes a shape of sphere.. understood now dnt ask how it becom sphere due to gravity.. ?? Its is because each and every particle arouand the centre is attracted towards the centre aand also.. the mass compreses each and every particle towards centre and this balance of gravity and mass of a cellistial body gives rises to the shape of sphere.

Any point that is farther from the center is at a higher potential energy. Everything moves downhill and in every case, that is so that everything is level. That is the lowest energy configuration. And yes, the sun DOES spin, and its equator spins at a different rate than the poles. It is an oblate spheroid, not a sphere.
